Waipi'o Valley Lo’i and Poi Making

Immerse yourself in the traditional Hawaiian way of life on our Waipi'o Valley Lo'i and Poi Making Tour. This tour offers a unique opportunity to learn about the ancient Hawaiian practice of farming in the lo'i (irrigated terrace fields) and the traditional art of poi making.

The tour begins with a guided walk through the Waipi'o Valley lo'i, where you will learn about the history and significance of this ancient farming practice. Our knowledgeable guide will explain the different steps of the process, from planting to harvesting, and you will have the opportunity to learn about the different types of plants and crops grown in the lo'i.

After the lo'i visit, we will take a break and enjoy a traditional Hawaiian lunch before we move to the poi making class. Our experienced guide will teach you the art of poi making, using locally grown taro, and you will have the chance to pound your own poi and taste it.
